Born and raised in St. Albans, Vermont, I have lived my whole life in Northern Vermont. While I didn't get a traditional college eduction, over the yeas I have taken numerous art classes. I am a member of Essex Art League, Northern Vermont Artist Association and Artist in Residence Cooperative in Enosburg where I mostly exhibit my work. I have exhibited my work in various shows around the area and this year received the Best in Show award at the Champlain Valley Exposition.
I work in tradional oils in a realistic manner and my paintings tend to be small. My still lives of ordinary household goods are a reflection of the family values and integrity that are the essence of Vermont. The rather stark design and limited color palette that I use reflects this simplicity. I like the smooth look which emphasises the glass and metal surfaces of my favorite subjects. The small size makes viewing them a personal, intimate experience, like photographs from a family album.
