David Goodrich of Essex, VT was born outside of Buffalo, NY. He lives in Vermont (since 1995) with his wife and his two daughters. With a B.A in Geology (minor in Art) and an M.A. in French (Middlebury College), David is primarily self-trained and has been drawing and painting most of his life. This pastime, practiced sporadically over the years, became more of an avocation following an important commission in 1995. His then fiancee wanted an original Vermont drawing for their wedding invitation. From that point on, David has been working continuously, creating a variety of images, most of which are influenced by the appeal and beauty of Vermont. More recently, he has been documenting a series of enormous cows that he imagined he saw in various local settings. In addition to visual art, David is also a musician, playing traditional acoustic music on guitar and fiddle, and this interest is also documented in some of his artwork.
